Can a picture really say a thousand words?

keep-calm-PR copy

In a world where infobesity is a real problem and customer attention span is shrinking by the second, information needs to be delivered quickly and easy to digest.

Welcome to the era of visual communications. Did you know 90% of information transmitted to the brain is visual, and visuals are processed 60,000X faster than text?

Visual storytelling will continue to emerge this year as a strategy for not only standing out, but also for nurturing and growing vibrant and engaged communities.

The ability to craft visual stories that inspire emotion and spark the movement will help companies get noticed and amplify their message throughout those communities.

So, whilst good quality content will be at the heart of public relations, be prepared to mix it up and invest in good quality visuals that tell your story. Take pictures to complement your application stories and latest works, it will encourage engagement in social media and look better on your website.

After all, we know just one picture can tell a thousand words and has the ability change the course of a conversation – my favourite example, keep calm and carry on – simple visual, incredible storytelling.
